Abel Hernandez is said to be on Aston Villa’s transfer wishlist for the summer.

Steve Bruce could be about to show his ruthless side at Aston Villa, if they are promoted.
According to the Daily Mirror (May 2nd, page 50), Bruce has put Abel Hernandez on his wishlist if Villa are promoted this season.
The Hull City striker has hit eight goals in 10 games this season, and is out of contract at the end of the year.
Villa will have to beat off a great deal of competition for the Uruguayan, but if they do win the race it could plunge Lewis Grabban’s future into doubt.

Grabban has been an important player for Villa since joining on loan from Bournemouth, but question marks remain over whether he is good enough for the Premier League.
Grabban has hit just one goal in 24 appearances in England’s top tier over the course of his career.

And Bruce may feel that Hernandez would be an upgrade on Grabban, if Villa do earn promotion.
That would be a harsh decision, given Grabban’s impressive form since joining Villa.
But that sort of ruthlessness could be exactly what Villa need if Bruce is to help them compete back in the Premier League, should they earn promotion.
