Newcastle United have been utilising a 3-5-2 formation over pre-season, as Steve Bruce looks to get his side scoring more often.

Steve Bruce has suggested to the Chronicle that he wants to get Newcastle United scoring more often.
Newcastle hit 42 goals in the Premier League last season, which put them among the lowest scorers in the top flight.
Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle side were renowned for their defensive solidity more than their attacking flair.
But Bruce wants to make a big change at Newcastle, as he feels that scoring more goals will be crucial to his side over the campaign.
“It’s always a problem for any team in the bottom half of the division, to create and score goals,” he said.
“That’s why they cost so much money.
“We are hoping a different formation and system that a few more can chip in.
“We’re aware we only scored 42 times last year and we have got to improve on that.”

Bruce certainly has the tools in place to make Newcastle entertaining to watch, as their attack looks very exciting.
The additions of Joelinton and Allan Saint-Maximin this summer have been very eye catching, and Miguel Almiron is still at St. James’ Park too.
If Joelinton, Saint-Maximin and Almiron can click then Newcastle may have one of the most dangerous forward lines outside of the top six in the Premier League.
Newcastle begin their campaign at the weekend against Arsenal at St. James’ Park.
