Aston Villa reached the Championship playoff final last season.

According to The Sun, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is a contender for the Villa managerial job should Bruce be relieved of his duties at Villa Park.
Egyptian billionaire Nassef Sawiris and American fiancier Wes Edens have invested in the Championship club, as reported by The Sun, and they could well decide to bring in a new manager.
Bruce told The Sun: “The new owners might want to sweep things clean and have their own man in. All the indications I’ve heard are that’s not the case but until I get in front of them we won’t know. That meeting could be as early as Tuesday, obviously the quicker, the better.”
The Villa manager added: “I hope I’m given the opportunity. The indications were all positive a few days ago from conversations I’ve had with representatives of the new people.”

Keep Steve Bruce in charge?
The football that Villa played under Bruce last season was not exactly great, but the team did reach the Championship playoff final.
The former Hull City manager knows the division well, and with him in charge of Villa, the Villans would have a great chance of getting promoted to the Premier League.
Of course, with Villa facing FFP issues, the club may have to sell some of their best players, but if Bruce is given enough backing and is allowed time, then he could soon rebuild a promotion-chasing team.
