Steve Bruce was impressed with Axel Tuanzebe’s performance in Aston Villa’s 2-0 defeat against Fulham.

Aston Villa lost 2-0 against Fulham in the Championship clash at Craven Cottage on Saturday. The defeat ended Villa’s seven game winning run in the league.
One of the major positives that came out from the match was the performance of young Axel Tuanzebe who impressed on his full Aston Villa debut.
The on-loan Manchester United defender made a strong impact on the game during his first start for Villa. The 20-year-old played in an unusual right-back position, and was tasked to mark Fulham’s main man Ryan Sessegnon.

Although Villa were beaten badly and Sessegnon did score as well, the score line could have been greater if not for Tuanzebe.
Impressive in decision making, quick in clearing danger, and brave in making last ditch tackles, it was indeed an eye-catchy performance.
He looked tired towards the end, but there’s no doubt that he was Villa’s best player on the pitch. With more games under his belt, he could make a solid impact as Villa aim for promotion to the Premier League.

Steve Bruce, the Villa manager, was heavily pleased with his performance, and labelled his duel with Sessegnon as “terrific”.
“Both Axel and Ryan (Sessegnon) are talented young players,” said Bruce, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.
“It was a terrific battle. I’m delighted for Axel. He tired badly because he need games. But you can see his talent because he was excellent for us today on his full debut.”
