Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton is out of contract at the end of the season.

Alan Hutton has been at Aston Villa since 2011, but doubts remain over his future as his present contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
The versatile defender has made 23 Championship appearances for Villa this season, but the club are yet to offer a new deal to him.
However, his days at Villa might not be numbered, as yet, with Steve Bruce revealing that he has plans for the 33-year-old. But there is one condition.

He has said that Hutton will be provided a new deal if Villa get promoted to the Premier League.
Hutton is primarily a right back, but he is playing out-of-position and is doing extremely well to keep Neil Taylor out of the starting line-up.
Bruce has explained in the press conference that if Villa stays in the Championship, he will not retain Hutton due to financial reasons.

“If we get promoted I will offer him a new contract,” said Bruce, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.
“It’s pretty straightforward – it gives me all sorts of options if we get promoted. But we can’t have those conversations until we know where we are. It is what I have said to Alan and he appreciated the truth.”
Villa are enjoying a rich vein of form at the moment, and will look to make it eight wins on the trot when they face Fulham on Saturday.
