Aston Villa forward Jonathan Kodjia worked well in tandem with Tammy Abraham last night.
Kodjia was selected to start up-front with Tammy Abraham for Villa last night, and the strike-pairing showed signs of promise.
Bruce admits that Kodjia is a player who can be a soloist at times, but the Villa boss suggests that he is also a threat.
Bruce said: “Jon’s an individualist. He pleases the crowd and then he sends you mad with one that he tries to do round the back of his legs. He’s very difficult, but also he can play on the side, which we can bear in mind as well.”
Kodjia has been in good form for Villa this season, and has arguably been their most potent attacking weapon.
Bruce suggested last night that he has always wanted to play two up-front for Villa, but he has only just had the players available to do so.
Villa have been short of attacking options this season, with Scott Hogan picking up an injury.
But Abraham and Kodjia look to be a partnership which could cause serious damage at Championship level.
Villa are currently in sixth place in the table, with their next match coming against Sheffield Wednesday.
