Aston Villa have managed to win their last three matches in succession.

Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has told the Express and Star that he simply cannot get carried away, despite his side’s excellent form.

Villa are now unbeaten in seven league matches, and won for the third successive time against Burton Albion in midweek.

The claret and blues have managed to turn around their poor opening to the campaign, and now sit in eighth place in the Championship table.

Bruce, however, is keen not to get too confident – and insists that he won’t allow complacency to creep in at Villa Park.

“The one thing I can’t do is get carried away,” Bruce said. “We have been excellent over the last two or three weeks but we must keep our feet on the ground and get ready for Bolton. Hopefully there is a big crowd. We have to make sure we are ready.

“It won’t be easy, just because we are at the bottom of the league. It will be a difficult game because that is what the Championship is.”

Villa have a great chance to continue their winning streak, as their next match comes against bottom of the table Bolton Wanderers.

Bolton are yet to win a league game this term, with Villa heavy favourites to be victorious on Saturday.

If Bruce’s side are able to take the three points at the weekend, they could move into the play off places, and that would represent fine progress for the Midlands outfit.
