Newcastle United are putting money into their Under-23’s.

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has been quoted by The Chronicle as saying that the club ‘aren’t quite finished yet’ in terms of signing players for the Under-23’s.
The Magpies are attempting to get in first-team additions ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline, with Jetro Willems, Allan Saint-Maximin and Joelinton all brought in.
However, Newcastle have also chosen to cast an eye towards their Under-23’s, with two signings brought in last week to bolster those ranks.
Goalkeeper Jake Turner arrived after leaving Bolton Wanderers, whilst midfielder Kyle Scott rejected other clubs in order to join the Magpies from Chelsea.
Both players will be looking to establish themselves at St James’ Park in the years to come, and whilst the focus is on first-team players, more Under-23’s could arrive.
Bruce has suggested that money has been ‘put aside’ for Under-23 signings, and the Newcastle boss hinted that more could be on the way by suggesting that they’re not finished yet.

“We’ve put aside some money to bolster the Under-23s,” said Bruce. “We’ve done two or three in that area and I don’t think we’re quite finished yet,” he added.
One similar addition could be arriving very soon, as the Daily Mail report that talks have ben held over a loan-to-buy deal for Inter Milan striker Facundo Colidio – who would head into the Under-23’s.
It’s certainly interesting that Newcastle are putting so much emphasis on their Under-23’s, and whilst that will be a surprise boost for Under-23 Head Coach Neil Redfearn, he’ll no doubt he excited to see so many young talents arriving for him to work with.
