Aston Villa brought Lewis Grabban to the club last month on transfer deadline day.
Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s superb 4-2 win away at Sheffield Wednesday yesterday, and raved about the quality of Lewis Grabban, explaining why he is so unique to the English game, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The west Midlands outfit are currently in the midst of a superb run of form that has seen them win six and draw one of their last eight Championship outings, and they now sit in third spot in the table, just a single point adrift of second placed Cardiff, although Neil Warnock’s men do have a game in hand.
Grabban, 30, has played a major role in their recent success, after joining the club on loan last month, chipping in with two goals in four outings thus far.
Bruce explained why the forward is so important to his side, when speaking to reporters, highlighting his ability to play anywhere along the front-line as something that is totally unique to the English game, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“You can see why we brought him here. We see it a lot with foreign teams, where they play three up top and don’t really have wingers. They have strikers who can play in wide areas, and we don’t have a lot of those in this country. But certainly Lewis is one of those who can play as a nine or 10, or slightly to the left or right. He’s a goal threat – that’s there for everybody to see.”
Next up for the Villans is a home game against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, and nothing less than three points will do, as they look to keep pace with those currently above them in the table.
