Aston Villa have really struggled in the Championship this season.

Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce sat down for his post-match press conference, following his side’s disappointing 1-0 defeat to Huddersfield Town yesterday, and highlighted how they need to become more clinical in front of goal, if they are to reach their full potential, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.
The Villans were on a good run going into last night’s game, but were brought back down to reality by the Terriers, and now sit 15th in the Championship table, with their hopes of promotion in tatters.
Bruce’s men have badly let him down this season, with some seriously sub-standard displays, and they now surely are set for another campaign in England’s second tier.
And Bruce spoke to the media after his side’s loss at Huddersfield, lamenting their poor conversion to chances ratio, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail:
Steve Bruce manager of Aston Villa
“We’ve got a horrible achilles heel. With the amount of chances we create we don’t take them. And when you’re playing against a really good team you’re not going to get seven and eight like we did on Saturday at Rotherham. Against Huddersfield you’re going to get one, two or three and we’ve had some gilt-edged ones and unfortunately missed them which has cost us in the end.”
One thing that is hugely important for Villa is to finish their season strongly, and build momentum for next term, because if they fail to gain promotion within the first two years of being relegated, their task will become even more challenging with every year that passes.
