Newcastle United broke their club record fee to bring in Joelinton during the summer transfer window.

Steve Bruce has told the Chronicle that Newcastle United really need Joelinton to start improving.
Newcastle spent big money to bring in Joelinton during the summer, but he is yet to fully adapt to the demands of the Premier League.
The Brazilian has just one goal to his name, despite starting in every one of Newcastle’s Premier League matches to date.
There is now increasing pressure falling on Joelinton’s shoulders, after his slow start.
And Bruce admits that Newcastle really need their star striker to up his game if they are to be successful this term.
“I’m sure the longer it goes it will get better,” Bruce said.
“We need him to be. If you are going to wear the number 9 shirt he’s got to chip in with a few goals. He can only improve.”

Joelinton’s last display was against Chelsea, and he was ineffective as Newcastle slipped to a 1-0 defeat.
The powerful forawrd now has increased competition for his place in Newcastle’s line-up, with both Andy Carroll and Dwight Gayle waiting in the wings for a chance.
Newcastle are next in action at the weekend when they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers.
