Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce sat down for his pre-match press conference yesterday, ahead of his side’s Championship clash with Ipswich Town today, and suggested that Keinan Davis’ recent injury problems are a real shame for both the player and the football club, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.

The 20-year-old burst onto the scene at Villa Park last season with a string of impressive performances, but the youngster suffered an injury in March of this year, and he hasn’t played for Villa since then.

Steve Bruce has somewhat of an injury crisis on his hands at Villa Park at the moment, with Jonathan Kodjia the only fit striker currently available to him.

The Aston Villa boss spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference yesterday, and discussed how much of a shame it is that Davis has suffered such horrendous luck with injuries over the past six months, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail:

“It’s a shame on the kid. He’s been blighted now since last March with this injury. He takes two steps forward and one step backwards at the moment which is upsetting for us all.”

Bruce will be hoping that the young striker returns to action sooner rather than later, as his side continue their quest for promotion back to the Premier League this season.
