Aston Villa managed to pick up a 2-0 victory over Bristol City yesterday.
Steve Bruce has told BBC Radio West Midlands Sport that Aston Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia can be highly frustrating, but he cannot moan about the striker’s productivity.
Kodjia had an up and down night yesterday, as Villa beat Bristol City 2-0 to pick up back-to-back victories.
The Ivory Coast international missed a penalty, but then made up for that by netting his side’s first goal.
And Bruce believes that Kodjia’s ability to hit the back of the net simply cannot be criticised.
“I think I’ve been in charge for 20 games and he’s scored 12,” Bruce said. “He has an unbelievable goalscoring record. Yes, there’s times when he’s off the cuff, and he frustrates everybody, but he scores goals.”
After Kodjia scored, Conor Hourihane managed to net Villa’s second to secure an important victory.
The claret and blues have now banished any fears of them being dragged into a relegation fight, after a terrible start to 2017.
Villa failed to win any of their first seven matches this year, but they appear to have turned the corner now.
Bruce’s men are currently in 15th place in the Championship table, nine points above the relegation zone.
