Aston Villa managed to draw 1-1 with Hull City on their opening match of the season.
Samba was utilised as an emergency striker in the final stages of Villa’s match against Hull at the weekend, as Bruce’s side desperately searched for a winner.
The powerful centre-back did cause some complications for Hull’s backline, but his limited time on the pitch meant that he could not change the scoreline and Villa were held to a 1-1 draw.

And Bruce admits that he regrets not putting Samba on to the pitch at an earlier time.
“The change certainly brought a lively response,” Bruce said.
“Maybe I should have put him on a bit earlier with those crosses coming in.
“It’s something for us to consider and work on.”
Samba has previously been used as a striker for Blackburn Rovers, but has been brought to Villa primary for his defensive qualities.
Villa had taken the lead against Hull when Gabriel Agbonlahor scored early on.
However, the claret and blues were pegged back for Jarrod Bowen’s goal for Hull and they couldn’t get back into the match.
Bruce’s side are next in action on Wednesday, when they take on Colchester United in the League Cup.
