Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has admitted to the Birmingham Mail that Callum O’Hare has given him a headache.

O’Hare has only been given a limited number of chances this season, but he has impressed whenever he has played for Villa’s first-team.

The 19-year-old has featured in every round of the Carabao Cup to date for the claret and blues, with his skill impressing supporters.

And Bruce admits that O’Hare is pushing hard for a first-team place now, which is causing him a big selection dilemma.

“Callum in particular has given us a headache,” Bruce admitted.

“He has rightly joined the squad, looks a very good little player and has been a big plus point.”

Villa already have a great deal of competition for places in the forward ranks of their starting line-up, which means O’Hare faces a tough battle to break into Bruce’s team.

O’Hare has only made one Championship appearance for Villa so far this season, with other options generally favoured.

Despite impressing for Villa last night, O’Hare was unable to stop the claret and blues from slipping to a 2-0 defeat against Middlesbrough.

Villa are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Nottingham Forest.
