The Aston Villa midfielder is currently on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has been speaking to the club’s official website about some of the young players that were given a run-out against Brentford this weekend.
Among them was Tottenham Hotspur loanee Josh Onomah, who has featured seven times since swapping North London for a temporary stint at Villa Park, and Bruce admitted that the second-half injury sustained by the young midfielder was in part due to his physical well-being heading into the match.

“The three young lads in particular looked tired and jaded,” Bruce told avfc.co.uk in reference to Onomah, Andre Green and Keinan Davis.
“I should have identified that. Unfortunately the three of them have picked up injuries which is a consequence of being tired and where they are at.”
It is unfortunate for Onomah that he has picked up an injury just when he was stacking a claim to be a regular starter for Villa, but Tottenham fans can still be pleased by his development and the chances he has been given thus far.

So many loanees struggle for minutes, with Onomah’s Tottenham teammate Cameron Carter-Vickers one such example over at Sheffield United, and Bruce clearly rates the young Englishman very highly.
He looks set to miss the upcoming match against Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening but will be hoping to get back to full fitness sooner rather than later.
Onomah has appeared 32 times for Tottenham’s first-team to date and he will be expected to make a real mark at the end of his Villa loan.
