Speaking on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel, Kevin Campbell has been full of praise for Kieran Tierney after his performances since returning to the Arsenal side.
Tierney was out of action for a little while earlier this season with injury, and upon his return to first-team training, he found that Nuno Tavares had taken his spot in the starting XI.
Tierney had to sit on the bench and watch Tavares for a couple of weeks, but since returning to the side, the Scot has been exceptional.
Campbell says that Tierney has stepped up to the plate since his return to the side, claiming that he’s not playing how he used to.
What’s Campbell said about Tierney?
The pundit had plenty of praise for the Scotland international.
“It’s funny how when the gauntlet was thrown down Kieran Tierney has stepped right up. He’s performed without a sign of an injury, he’s just been great, up and down that left hand side playing like he used to, and that’s because there’s a challenge there now. That challenge with Nuno Tavares has really gotten his attention, and that’s what we need,” Campbell said.

Back to his best
It certainly didn’t take Tierney long to get back to his best after a spell on the sidelines.
As Campbell says, there’s no sign of Tierney being affected by his injury problems, and he’s playing with the energy and tenacity we’ve grown accustomed to seeing from the left-back in recent years.
Let’s hope that Tierney’s injury problems are behind him and he can continue to star for the Gunners.
