Stephen Warnock poses a question for Leeds United

Leeds United, who sold Chris Wood to Burnley in the summer transfer window, will face Burton Albion at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday.

Burton Albion defender Stephen Warnock asked a question of Leeds United on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (6pm, September 8, 2017).

The 35-year-old former Liverpool and Derby County defender, who was on the books of Leeds from 2013 until 2015, has asked whether someone will be able to step up and score the goals that Chris Wood did last season.

New Zealand international striker Wood scored as many as 27 goals in the Championship last season, as the Whites narrowly failed to finish in the top six.

The former Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion striker left Leeds for Premier League club Burnley in the summer transfer window.

The West Yorkshire outfit are doing quite well without Wood at the moment, as they are very much in the running for the playoffs.

Former Leeds defender Warnock has asked whether anyone will be able to step up and score the goals that Wood did last season.

Warnock said on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (6pm, September 8, 2017): “It’s a long season to be without a player like that who scored so many goals last season.

“Can someone else step up to the plate and do that? That’s the big question that everyone’s going to be asking.”

Burton will take on Leeds away from home at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
