Sky Sports pundit Stephen Warnock has highlighted the positive impact the Elland Road crowd has had on Leeds United’s season and their recent stoppage time winners.

The former Whites player stated that ‘it’s such a great feeling’ playing in front of the Yorkshire faithful, who helped their team to a stunning 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers on Boxing Day.

Defender Charlier Mulgrew, who struck in the 90th-minute, thought he had won the game for his side late on, but in-form forward Kemar Roofe scored two injury-time winners to help secure all the points for his side.

For the second game running, Leeds have scored injury-time winners following their stunning comeback win at Aston Villa last Sunday.

Former Premier League player Warnock praised the fight Marcelo Bielsa’s side have shown this season as they currently top the Championship table.

“At home, Leeds are very strong,” Warnock told Sky Sports News on 27/12/2018 at 11:20 am. “The crowd behind them they have got that momentum going. When they scored yesterday, the crowd sort of draw them on, it’s such a great feeling when you are at Elland Road playing in front of them fans.

“But they have a very fit team there is no getting away from that. What they do is they just keep going to the end, they keep piling that pressure on.”

Leeds were not the only team leaving it late on Boxing Day with their promotion rivals, Norwich scoring three goals in the last 15 minutes to secure a 3-3 draw at home to Nottingham Forest.

Both teams currently occupy the automatic places in the second tier of English football as they are vying for a return to the promised land.

The Championship has just entered the second half of its season, with West Brom, Sheffield United, Middlesbrough and Derby County currently occupying the play-off spots.
