Championship outfit Leeds United were linked with Wigan Athletic star Nick Powell last year, along with Norwich City.

Speaking to Football League World, Stephen Warnock has claimed that Wigan Athletic star Nick Powell would jump at the chance to join Leeds United this summer – if they are promoted to the Premier League.
The former Manchester United wonderkid has got his career back on track at the DW Stadium, inspiring the Latics to the League One title and the FA Cup semi-finals last season. He has also scored or assisted 14 goals in the current campaign.
But Powell’s future beyond this summer is uncertain with TEAMtalk claiming that the likes of RB Leipzig, Borussia Monchengladbach, Norwich City, Celtic, Rangers and Derby County are all eyeing the 25-year-old.
Leeds have also been linked in the past, via TEAMtalk, with Powell reported to be valued in the region of £5 million.
And former Whites captain Warnock believes that the chance to work under the infamous Marcelo Bielsa would appeal to a player who has all the natural talent to thrive in the Premier League if he stays fit.

“He’s arguably one of the best talents I’ve ever played with. The ability he has and the things he can do on a football pitch, other players just simply can’t do. He not only sees passes, but he executes them too,” said Warnock.
“If Leeds and Norwich go up, then he’ll be looking to go up with them. Norwich look to be up already, and a move to Leeds United under Marcelo Bielsa would be very appealing for him.”
As it stands, Leeds’s hopes of promotion are hanging by a thread. They have slipped to third in the table with just two Championship games remaining and it looks like they will have to navigate the play-offs.
