Celtic have decisions to make at right back this summer, with Jonjoe Kenny set to return to Everton at the end of his loan deal.
A permanent return looks unlikely, and with Hatem Abd Elhamed already sold to Hapoel Be’er Sheva and Jeremie Frimpong bought by Bayer Leverkusen in January, Celtic need options.
With no manager or director of football in place, Celtic’s transfer plans may be taking a back seat for now, and one potential target has made a decision on his future.
The Times claimed in February that Stephen O’Donnell would fancy a summer move to Celtic, with his Motherwell contract running down.
O’Donnell spent two years in the Celtic setup between 2009 and 2011, and has long been linked with a return to Parkhead.
The 28-year-old has picked up 18 caps for Scotland, and whilst he may not be at Kenny or Frimpong’s level, he could have been cheap backup for the Bhoys.

Instead, O’Donnell has now signed a new two-year contract with Motherwell, tying his future to the club until 2023.
Unless Celtic now want to pay a fee to sign O’Donnell, he won’t be heading back to the green side of Glasgow any time soon – and whilst he may have fancied Celtic, it seems that the feeling wasn’t reciprocated.
