Sunderland are reportedly set to appoint St. Mirren boss Jack Ross as their new manager.

Sunderland look set to appoint St. Mirren boss Jack Ross as their new manager.
According to BBC Sport, the Black Cats have been given permission to speak to the 41-year-old, and it seems that it is only a matter of time before the former Alloa Athletic manager gets the role at the Stadium of Light.
Not many Sunderland fans will know Ross well, given that his managerial career so far has been in Scotland, but the Stadium of Light faithful will be encouraged by the following comments from Stephen McGinn.

The 29-year-old midfielder has been on the books of St. Mirren since January 2017 – his second spell at the Scottish club – and the former Sheffield United man has praised Ross’s man-management style.
McGinn told The Scottish Sun about Ross: “His man-management skills are his biggest strength. In any business I think he’d be a really successful manager because he is so good at dealing with people. His communication skills are excellent.”

Winning promotion
Ross has guided St. Mirren to the Scottish Premiership from the Scottish Championship this season.
Sunderland will hope that the 41-year-old is able to weave his magic at the Stadium of Light next season well.
The Black Cats will play in League One during the 2018-19 campaign after getting relegated from the Championship this season.
