Jack Ross’s Sunderland won against Portsmouth on Saturday.

Stephen Elliott has suggested on Twitter that Sunderland manager Jack Ross should have included Chris Maguire in the starting lineup against Portsmouth on Saturday evening.
Sunderland won 1-0 against Portsmouth at the Stadium of Light in the first leg of their League One semi-final playoff tie.
Attacking midfielder Maguire scored the only goal of the match in the 62nd minute.
The Black Cats also ended the game with 10 men due to the dismissal of Alim Ozturk midway through the second half.
Maguire did not start the match for Sunderland, but the former Aberdeen and Derby County attacking midfielder came on as a substitute in the 58th minute.
Former Sunderland forward Elliott has suggested on Twitter that Ross made “a big mistake” in not starting Maguire against Portsmouth.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Stadium of Light on Saturday evening, hosts Sunderland had 53% of the possession, took 11 shots of which three were on target, and earned three corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors Portsmouth had 47% of the possession, took nine shots of which two were on target, and earned five corners, according to BBC Sport.
