Stephen Elliott has said on Twitter that Shane Duffy does not look comfortable playing for Celtic.
Elliott made the comment about his Republic of Ireland compatriot Duffy while watching the 28-year-old defender in action for Celtic in the Scottish Cup final against his former club Heart of Midlothian on Sunday.
Although the Hoops won the final 4-3 on penalties, they conceded three goals in 120 minutes.
How did Shane Duffy play for Celtic against Hearts?
Although Celtic won the final on Sunday, it must be said that defensively Neil Lennon’s side were far from impressive.
Duffy, who moved to the Glasgow giants on loan from Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2020, had a very disappointing game on a personal level.
The Republic of Ireland international central defender easily lost Liam Boyce and had a mix-up with Christopher Jullien that led to a chance for Hearts.
Duffy has not been at his best for Celtic so far this season, and the experienced defender does have to step up in the coming weeks and months.
According to WhoScored, Duffy has made eight starts and two substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic so far this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist in the process.
