Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers and Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic are among the clubs reportedly interested in Sunderland’s Josh Maja.

Josh Maja is a player in demand, with Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers and Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic among the clubs reportedly interested in the Sunderland forward.

According to The Sunday People (print edition, page 49, January 20, 2019), Rangers and Celtic are interested in Maja, who is out of contract at Sunderland at the end of the season (click here to read more).

West Ham United in the Premier League are also reported to be interested in the 20-year-old forward, while Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign the youngster on a free transfer in the summer of 2019 (although they will have to pay Sunderland a compensation fee), according to The Express.

Maja has been scoring goals regularly for Sunderland this season, and the youngster was on target during the Black Cats’ 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe United in League One at the weekend.

Former Sunderland forward Stephen Elliott was following the match, and he has urged the Black Cats on Twitter to keep hold of the youngster – who has scored 15 goals in 25 League One appearances for Jack Ross’s side so far this season, according to WhoScored.
