Jack Ross’s Sunderland have got the better of Portsmouth over two legs in the League One playoff semi-finals.

Stephen Elliott has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Sunderland’s success over Portsmouth in the League One playoff semi-finals.
Sunderland played out a goalless draw with Portsmouth away from home at Fratton Park in the second leg of their League One playoff semi-final tie on Thursday evening.
The Black Cats won the first leg of the tie 1-0 at the Stadium of Light last weekend, meaning that Jack Ross’s side have progressed to the playoff final 1-0 on aggregate.
Sunderland will face either Charlton Athletic or Doncaster Rovers in the League One playoff final for a place in the Championship next season.
Elliott was following the match, and the former Sunderland forward has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the win for the Black Cats.
The former Republic of Ireland international has praised Sunderland goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin for his saves against Portsmouth, and has also hailed 26-year-old defender Alim Ozturk for establishing himself as an important player in Ross’s team.
