Stephen Elliott has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Jordan Willis signing for Sunderland in the summer transfer window.

Sunderland have secured the services of Willis on a free transfer following the defender’s departure from Coventry City at the end of last season.

The 24-year-old is the Black Cats’ third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Conor McLaughlin and Lee Burge.

Former Sunderland forward Elliott has praised the Black Cats on Twitter for bringing the defender to the Stadium of Light, and has suggested that he will be a good signing for Jack Ross’s side.

Pushing for promotion

Sunderland reached the League One playoff final last season, but the Black Cats failed to win the big game at Wembley Stadium in London in May and will play in the third tier of English football again in 2019-20.

The Black Cats, though, have a very good squad, and the Stadium of Light faithful will be confident that the team will challenge for automatic promotion to the Championship again next season.
