Aiden McGeady has committed his future to Sunderland.

Stephen Elliott has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Aiden McGeady signing a new contract with Sunderland.
McGeady has signed a one-year contract extension with Sunderland and will stay at the Stadium of Light until the end of the 2020-21 season.
The 33-year-old Republic of Ireland international winger has been on the books of the Black Cats since 2017 and is an important player in manager Jack Ross’s side.
Former Sunderland forward Elliott has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to McGeady signing a one-year contract extension.
The former Republic of Ireland international believes that it is the “best bit of business” from Sunderland so far in the summer transfer window.

Competition for Tinashe Chakwana
Meanwhile, Sunderland are reportedly facing competition for Tinashe Chakwana.
According to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 65, July 14, 2019), Barnsley are challenging Sunderland for the services of Chakwana.
The 20-year-old striker is a free agent at the moment, having left Premier League club Burnley at the end of last season.
Sunderland have reportedly held talks with the youngster over a move to the Stadium of Light, but Barnsley are claimed to be set to make a better offer.
