Sunderland have played out a 1-1 draw with Luton at the Stadium of Light in League One on Saturday afternoon.
Chris Maguire scored for the Black Cats in the 16th minute, and James Collins restored parity for the visiting team from the penalty spot midway through the second half.
Hosts Sunderland had Maguire sent off in the third minute of injury time, and visitors Luton were reduced to 10 men on 70 minutes when Danny Hylton was dismissed.
Former Sunderland forward Elliott was following the match, and he has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the draw for the Black Cats.
The 35-year-old believes that Jack Ross’s side got what they deserved, but he has also criticised referee Lee Probert.

The draw with Luton means that Sunderland are now third in the League One table with 52 points from 26 matches, five points behind leaders Portsmouth, who have played 27 games.
