The former Sunderland and Republic of Ireland international forward was pleased to see Hourihane score for Villa in their 2-1 win against Bristol City at Villa Park in the Championship at the weekend.
The 28-year-old Republic of Ireland international found the net midway through the second half of the game on Saturday afternoon.

According to WhoScored, against City at Villa Park on Saturday, Hourihane took six shots, had a pass accuracy of 87.1%, won two headers, and played two key passes.
So far this season, Hourihane has made 31 starts and eight substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Villans, scoring seven goals and providing 10 assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

Villa are fifth in the Championship table at the moment with 69 points from 42 matches.
Dean Smith’s side are pretty much certain to finish in the top six of the Championship this season, and they could well earn promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs.
