Sunderland have finally completed the signing of Wyke from Bradford City.

Former Sunderland striker Stephen Elliott is confident that new signing Charlie Wyke will go on to become a crucial member of the Black Cats side in their bid for promotion back to the Championship this season.
Sunderland finally completed the signing of 25-year-old Wyke, who shone in England’s third tier for Bradford City be scoring 16 goals and creating another nine strikes for the Yorkshire club.
Sky Sports claim Sunderland have splashed out £600,000 as an initial payment to land Wyke, with that fee expected to reach the £1million mark by way of add-ons and future incentives.
Elliott, 34, spent three seasons at Sunderland and he believes that the signing of Wyke will be a “huge player this season”, as the target man looks to better his 16 goals for Bradford during 2017-18.
Sunderland had desperately needed a striker earlier in pre-season, with the club playing triallist Anton Forrester up front despite the forward struggling at League Two Port Vale last season.
Since then, though, new manager Jack Ross has brought Jerome Sinclair and now Wyke to the club, and the latter is expected to start for the Black Cats on Saturday as they face Charlton at the Stadium of Light.
