Former Ireland international Elliott also used to play for Hearts, where he will have been impressed by Dunne’s impressive rise into the first team after Christophe Berra suffered a long-term injury.
Dunne is now set to rival the likes of Jack Baldwin and Tom Flanagan for a place at the heart of Jack Ross’ defence in their bid to gain promotion back to the Championship at the first attempt.
