Stephen Elliot praises Sunderland striker Josh Maja

Sunderland striker Josh Maja scored his 10th goal of the season last night.

Former Sunderland man Stephen Elliot has praised striker Josh Maja for the role he has played at the Stadium of Light this season.

There were concerns that Sunderland wouldn’t have enough firepower up-front to get promoted before the season started.

However, Maja has really stepped up to the plate after being handed a chance in Sunderland’s first-team.

The Black Cats striker scored a last minute winner for Ross’s side against Morecambe yesterday in the Checkatrade Trophy.

It was Maja’s 10th goal of the season already, and Elliot claims that the young striker can be very proud of his efforts.
