Stephen Curry is confident that the Golden State Warriors are ready to challenge a long-standing narrative next season.

Golden State have been relatively quiet this offseason, leaving a few clear holes in their lineup unaddressed.

Jonathan Kuminga’s situation has played a significant role in shaping the Warriors’ summer, as no other deals have materialised around him.

The tension has even reached the point where fans have started to question Steve Kerr’s approach with the team.

But Curry isn’t buying into the negativity. He believes there’s still plenty of reason to be optimistic about what the Warriors can achieve next season.

Stephen Curry says Golden State Warriors have foundation for title challenge

Speaking in a recent interview while promoting his youth summer camp, Curry was asked whether he believes he can win another NBA title now that he is over 35.

He responded by backing the Warriors’ experience and talent, saying they are ready for what he called a ‘beautiful challenge.’

“We’re going to find out. I think we can,” Curry said. “What we did last year, a third of the season after the trade deadline, when we were top three in the league in both offense and defense – all the metrics that showed that we were a really good team.

“Obviously, we have to stay healthy and get through the season at a high level. But I like the identity that we have.”

“The foundation of knowing how to play together towards the end of last season, which we can hopefully translate to this year,” he added.

Warriors need to fix offseason approach if they want to compete

Golden State have its eyes set on another NBA title, but their quiet offseason doesn’t quite match those ambitions.

It’s understandable that the front office wants to address the Jonathan Kuminga situation before making any new additions, but it has left them lagging behind other teams in terms of roster moves.

The Warriors are the only team in the league that hasn’t made a signing or trade this summer, essentially putting all plans on hold until Kuminga’s future is sorted out.

This approach could backfire, as waiting too long might mean missing out on key targets who end up signing elsewhere.
