Stephen Curry’s future is suddenly back under the spotlight after the Golden State Warriors’ season came to a crashing halt.

The Warriors’ Play-In exit didn’t just end their postseason hopes; it also raised inevitable questions about how much longer their franchise cornerstone plans to keep going.

And while Curry didn’t shut the door on anything, his response made one thing very clear.

Stephen Curry addresses retirement talks after Warriors’ elimination

Speaking after the loss, Curry was directly asked about how many more years he plans to play in the NBA.

“Multiple for sure. None of those conversations [on an extension] have happened, so it’ll be a busy summer for the Warriors,” Curry said.

The statement leaves the door open, but also highlights uncertainty. With no extension discussions yet and a pivotal offseason ahead, Golden State finds itself at a crossroads with its most important player.

For now, retirement isn’t imminent, but it’s no longer a conversation that feels far away either.

Warriors’ season ends in disappointing Play-In loss vs. Suns

Golden State’s campaign officially ended with a 111-96 loss to the Phoenix Suns in the Play-In Tournament, a game that never fully swung in their favor.

The Suns came out firing, building an early double-digit lead and controlling the tempo for most of the night, while the Warriors struggled with turnovers and inconsistent shooting.

Curry, the focal point of Phoenix’s defensive scheme, was held to just 17 points on 4-of-16 shooting, a rare off night in a win-or-go-home scenario.

Despite cutting the deficit to single digits at times, Golden State couldn’t sustain momentum, as Phoenix responded with timely runs to shut the door.

The loss not only eliminated the Warriors but also capped off a turbulent 37-45 season that required a Play-In push just to stay alive.
