Stephen Crainey has suggested to The Scottish Sun that he is not surprised that Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Kieran Tierney from Celtic in the summer transfer window.

According to The Scottish Sun, Premier League club Arsenal are interested in securing the services of Scotland international defender Tierney from Scottish Premiership outfit Celtic this summer.

It has been reported that the Gunners are willing to pay £25 million as transfer fee to bring the 22-year-old left-back to the Emirates Stadium.

Former Celtic left-back Crainey has given his take on Tierney, and he is not surprised that the Gunners reportedly want him.

Crainey told The Scottish Sun about Tierney: “There is strong interest in Kieran and that isn’t a surprise. He has shown in the last four years how good a player he is.

“When he played in the Champions League he did not look out of place. With the calibre of player he is, whatever team he played for, he could handle the situation.

Crainey added: “Kieran is injured so there could be a few things needing ironed out before anything happens. Being a Celtic fan, I want him to stay at the club, that’s for sure.”

Celtic stay or Arsenal move?

Tierney is one of the best and most talented young left-backs in Europe, and there is no surprise that Arsenal reportedly want him.

It must be quite a dilemma for the 22-year-old. The left-back is a Celtic fan and is loved by the Celtic Park faithful, but Arsenal present him with the chance to showcase his quality at a much bigger stage.
