Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have gone nearly a year without winning three Premiership games on the spin.
Stephen Craigan has told BT Sport that he finds it “remarkable” how Rangers have gone almost a year without stringing together three victories in a row.
Under caretaker boss Graeme Murty, Rangers were expected to extend their two-match winning streak on Saturday but a shock 2-0 defeat by Hamilton at Ibrox scuppered that hope.
Axed manager Pedro Caixinha never won more than two on the bounce, meaning that Mark Warburton is the last man to achieve a relatively simple feat at a club like the Gers.
Striker Kenny Miller was blunt in his assessment of that statistic on Sunday, calling it “horrendous” and Craigan feels as if it paints a picture of just how poor the Ibrox side have been over the past year or so.
“I find it remarkable that Rangers haven’t managed to win three games in a row since December 2016. Maybe it tells us more about the poor state the club really are in,” he told BT Sport.
“With the high financial outlay and the wages that are being paid to players the Gers supporters have every right to demand more from the club.”
Murty did his hopes of landing the job on a full-time basis no favours at all and it remains to be seen who the Rangers’ hierarchy to select to replace Caixinha.
The Gers are fourth in the Scottish Premiership, three points behind second-placed Aberdeen.
