West Bromwich Albion, Leeds United and Sunderland are among the clubs reportedly interested in Jake Hastie of Motherwell.
Jake Hastie is a player reportedly in demand, with Leeds United, West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland among the clubs linked with the Motherwell teenager.
The 19-year-old, who can operate as a midfielder or as a winger, is out of contract at Motherwell at the end of the season.
According to The Daily Record, Leeds, West Brom, Norwich City all have scouted the teenager this season.
Scouts from Swansea City and Sunderland are also claimed to have watched the 19-year-old in action for Motherwell this campaign.
The Scottish youngster, though, is not getting carried away, and the teenager recently told BBC Sport that he wants to stay at Motherwell beyond the summer of 2019.
So far this season, Hastie has made six appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Motherwell, scoring four goals in the process, according to WhoScored.
Former Motherwell defender and Under-20 coach Stephen Craigan – who now works a pundit for BT Sport – has spoken highly of Hastie, and is pleased that the youngster plans to stay at the club.
Craigan told The Scottish Sun about Hastie: “Jake’s physically strong, he’s powerful and he’ll get up and down the park. He’s raw, of course, but getting this run in the team will benefit him.
“I read Stephen Robinson’s comments about Jake’s immediate future the other day and he’s absolutely right. A few hundred quid extra isn’t going to change Jake’s life right now.
“But getting the experience of playing 50 games for Motherwell might. It’s good to see Jake saying he wants to stay at the club.”
