Stephen A. Smith has turned his latest Donald Trump clash into a direct debate challenge after the president questioned his intelligence and political ambitions.
The exchange began after Trump’s appearance at Knicks vs Spurs Game 3 of the NBA Finals, where Smith criticized the disruption caused by the president’s visit to Madison Square Garden.
Trump later responded on Truth Social, calling Smith an “arrogant fool,” a “low IQ individual” and “dumb as a rock.”

Stephen A Smith responds to Donald Trump debate attack
NBA Base shared Smith’s response after Trump mocked the idea of him running for political office.
Addressing Trump’s comments, Smith said: “Mr. President, you ain’t got to worry about me running. But if I was running, you would have to be worried, because I know there’s quite a few people I’d smoke in a debate — including you, with ease.”
He went on to draw a sharper comparison, saying: “Actually, with ease. No disrespect, but I ain’t Kamala and I ain’t Joe Biden. I’m a little bit different.”
Smith made it clear he was not announcing a campaign, but pushed back against Trump’s claim that he would be outmatched in politics.

The feud escalated after Trump attended Game 3 at Madison Square Garden, a visit that brought heavy security, crowd reaction and viral accusations that he appeared to fall asleep.
Smith criticized Trump’s presence as selfish and later joked about the president appearing to be asleep during the game.
Trump responded by targeting Smith’s intelligence and potential political future, turning a sports-TV criticism into a political argument.
Stephen A Smith keeps 2028 speculation alive
Smith has previously spoken about the possibility of a future presidential run, though he has not formally launched any campaign.
That is why Trump’s post focused partly on whether Smith was qualified for office.
For now, this looks less like a campaign moment and more like a media feud that started during the NBA Finals. But Smith’s “I ain’t Kamala” line guaranteed the exchange would reach far beyond the sports world.
