David Wagner is available after leaving Premier League outfit Huddersfield Town in January – could he be Queens Park Rangers’ next manager?

Steve McClaren was perhaps lucky to dodge the bullet when Queens Park Rangers endured their worst ever start to a league campaign this season, losing their first four matches including a humiliating 7-1 thrashing at West Brom that had fans shouting for his head.
But there was no escape this time around. A 2-1 home defeat against a seemingly doomed Bolton Wanderers side sealed the death warrant for McClaren, whose QPR side have won just one of their last 13 Championship games.
It was confirmed on Monday morning, less than 48 hours after that loss against Phil Parkinson’s crisis-ridden side, that McClaren had been handed his P45 with QPR 17th in the Championship table.

So a club who have had nine different permanent managers in the last decade will now be on the lookout for a tenth with this season nothing more than a write-off. But the Loftus Road faithful have made it clear who the number one target should be; Mr David Wagner.
The 47-year-old ticks a lot of boxes. He is available, likeable and proven in the Championship. After all, he led Huddersfield Town to the Premier League on a shoestring budget in 2017.
That sort of nous could come in handy at a QPR side who have had their fair share of Financial Fair Play problems.
