Stefano Vecchi has told Tuttomercatoweb.com that AS Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo can go straight into the Tottenham Hotspur first team.

The former Inter Milan prospect has also claimed that Zaniolo, who was also on the Nerazzurri’s books for a while, is good enough to play for the Juventus first team, and he has described his Italian compatriot as “extraordinary”.

According to The Express, Tottenham are interested in signing the 20-year-old midfielder from Roma in the summer transfer window.

Vecchi told Tuttomercatoweb about Zaniolo, as translated by The Express: “He is a player who can become extraordinary. He can go to Juventus and play for [the first team] and do the same at Tottenham or at Roma.

“In the capital, he certainly knows the environment and has a staff [in charge of him] where he can play more than [at] other clubs.”

Nicolò Zaniolo of AS Roma is challenged by Jens Stryger Larsen of Udinese during the Serie A match between AS Roma and Udinese at Stadio Olimpico on April 13, 2019 in Rome, Italy.

Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?

Zaniolo is a very talented and promising young midfielder who has done well for Roma, and given that he is only 20 years of age, he can and will improve in the coming years.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has shown that he is capable of making talented young players great, and he could work wonders with the 20-year-old.

According to WhoScored, the Italy international made 20 starts and seven substitute appearances in Serie A for Roma last season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in the process.
