Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after hearing that Jürgen Klopp was at the ceremony for the new Anfield Road Stand.

Klopp can be seen lifting a pile of dirt, before jokingly saying “it’s heavy” in front of a watching crowd, who erupt into laughter.

Nevertheless, despite the inevitable damage to his trainers, it was good to see Klopp involved in the ceremony, and willing to get his hands dirty.

The new state-of-the-art, £50m AXA training centre was completed in 2020.

Despite the history of Melwood, the new centre is far more advanced and befitting of a modern day football club.

A deal with Nike has also been signed, which is worth £80m-a-year.

Now, Anfield is being expanded too – Liverpool really are a flourishing club right now.

Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about the 11-second footage of Klopp digging…
