Some Everton fans on social media are far from happy with Lionel Messi after he mocked Yerry Mina after he missed his penalty in the shoot-out against Argentina.

Mina went viral earlier this week for his dance after scoring his penalty in the quarter-final shootout, but he couldn’t repeat the trick against Argentina, with his effort being saved by Emi Martinez.

Messi was caught up in all of the emotion and he began shouting something at Mina, with some outlets reporting that he was saying ‘dance now!’, mocking the Colombian for his actions in the prior round.

Messi may be one of the greatest players of all time, but it has to be said that this wasn’t very sporting, and as you can imagine, Everton fans had plenty to say about it.

Toffees fans came out in their droves to back Mina, claiming that Messi was being unsporting.

A couple of fans even joked that they wouldn’t have Messi at Everton now, so perhaps that’s something Marcel Brands should keep in mind if he’s thinking about signing the four-time Champions League winner for Everton.

Here’s what the Goodison Park faithful have been saying on social media…
