‘Stay at Leeds, love you to bits’: Some fans beg £2m star to stay at ER, he could be off

Some Leeds United fans on Twitter are begging Ezgjan Alioski to stick around in West Yorkshire.

Leeds have just enjoyed a brilliant first season back in the Premier League as Marcelo Bielsa’s side finished ninth.

Alioski, a £2 million signing in 2017, certainly did his bit in helping the Whites to a top-half finish following a good campaign at left-back.

But his contract is expiring this summer and there’s an element of mystery over whether he’ll be signing an extension at Elland Road.

United have already confirmed that Pablo Hernandez and Gaetano Berardi – both also out of contract – won’t be staying for the 2021-22 campaign.

The Yorkshire club confirmed this evening that they had offered the player a new contract [official website], but it remains to be seen whether he’ll be signing it.

The Macedonia winger posted photos of himself on international duty this afternoon as they gear up to compete in Euro 2020.
