Ozil was the man expected to be the creative fulcrum for his team, but his form over the early part of the season has been poor.

Despite a good display against Aston Villa at the weekend, more is expected from the World Cup winner as the campaign progresses and he will know that an improvement is needed.

However, his failure to hit his optimum form doesn’t seem to have effected Arsenal’s ability to create chances too much.

The Gunners have forged more clear openings for themselves than any other team in England, with 13 clear goalscoring opportunities made in the first five games of the season.

Santi Cazorla leads the club’s creative stats, after making three openings, but their strength has been in the volume of players that have been able to get their teammates through on goal.

A whopping total of 10 players from the side have already shown their ability to create, which is made all the more remarkable when considering their nearest rivals, Chelsea, have seen Cesc Fabregas make over half of their 11 big chances.

The stat highlights the importance that Danny Welbeck will have for the side.

Welbeck was brought in to provide Arsene Wenger’s men with the clinical edge they have been lacking in-front of goal and he should thrive off the excellent service he is getting.

The 23-year-old picked up his first goal for the North-London outfit against Villa this weekend and he will now be looking to build on that performance and capitalise on the excellent openings that the players behind him are offering.
