The midfielder produced one of his best performances of the Championship campaign against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.

Henri Lansbury was in fine form yesterday afternoon as he both scored and assisted during Nottingham Forest’s 3-0 win at Wolves.

There was a time, however, when Forest fans were not best pleased with Lansbury’s performances. Very recently, in fact, supporters were accusing the midfielder of not looking anywhere near the same player since signing a new contract.

But is he finally back to his best?

As Opta stats show, the 24-year-old’s display against Wolverhampton ranks among his most productive of the season so far.

Lansbury was perhaps at his very finest against Ipswich Town, when he created a personal best of six chances and registered two assists. Both in that game and at Huddersfield Town, meanwhile, the midfielder completed over 40 passes.

He was not far behind in that department, though, at Wolves, while he also created four chances.

But never before so far this term has Lansbury both scored and assisted. And that all-round edge to his game at Molineaux will certainly fill Nottingham Forest fans with hope.

The midfield man will now need to show Stuart Pearce some consistency if he – and Forest – are to continue producing on a regular basis. Lansbury, however, is certainly looking much better than this time last month.
