Nottingham Forest completed the loan signing of Modou Barrow from Swansea City earlier today.

Nottingham Forest have signed Modou Barrow on loan from Swansea City for the remainder of the season.

Barrow joins the Reds as Dougie Freedman seeks to increase Forest’s attacking threat for the closing stages of the campaign.

The Reds still have an outside chance of claiming a playoff spot and Freedman clearly feels that Barrow is a player that can ensure their form doesn’t dip.

Forest have been one of the most dangerous teams in the Championship over recent weeks and it is easy to see what the club have added by bringing Barrow in.

Although the Swansea winger has not had too many opportunities with the Welsh outfit this season, with six of his seven appearances coming as a substitute, he has still shown what he can offer Forest.

Barrow is a direct threat and has created a chance for a teammate every 44 minutes he has been on the pitch this season.

Equally impressive is his willingness to run at defenders, with Barrow averaging a dribble every 12 minutes.

The winger is blessed with pace and skill and should bring a different threat to Forest’s line-up.

Barrow doesn’t have the luxury of taking a while to settle in, but if he can continue to show his attacking instincts he looks set to thrive at a lower level and Freedman can feel very satisfied with his work in the transfer market today.
