The Leeds star put in another promising display against Wolverhampton Wanderers, although he still has plenty of room for improvement.

It’s taken a while but Adryan is finally firmly in the first-team picture at Elland Road.

The hype surrounding the 20-year-old’s ability has been backed up with some solid evidence and it’s fair to say the Brazilian has dazzled in his brief time at Leeds United so far.

Yesterday’s performance against Wolves was a case in point. Many Leeds supporters were thrilled with the skill Adryan displayed on the ball and, despite the 2-1 defeat and the sacking of Darko Milanic that it led to, it is not too soon to suggest the playmaker could become vital for Leeds.

Neil Redfearn, meanwhile, the man who looks set to be taking over from Milanic, is absolutely the perfect figure to get the best out of him.

As Opta stats show, the Brazilian completed more final-third passes than any other Leeds player at Elland Road yesterday, while also winning as many dribbles as any of his team-mates. Impressive for someone who is only just getting to grips with Championship football.

The 20-year-old, however, still has plenty of room for improvement. His passing accuracy was a lowly 72 per cent and he created no chances. Many supporters felt he could have done, though, had Milanic not taken him off against Wolves when he was paying well.

But those elements of his game may just come to the fore under Redfearn. The 49-year-old is superb when working with younger players – after all, that was his day job at Leeds.

Adryan’s promise, then, combined with Redfearn’s ability to work with young players, could be a match made in heaven. And the Brazilian has shown plenty of signs that he can become very important indeed for United this season.
