Ozil’s assists during this time have come at a slightly better rate than Eriksen’s, with the German supply a league goal every 218.4 minutes compared to the Dane’s 234.3. But there is another Spurs player with a better record.

Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier has the best minutes to assists ratio in the Premier League of any player to have provided at least 10 goals since the beginning of the 2015-16 campaign, with one every 165.7 minutes.

That is better than Ozil and Eriksen, as well as Manchester City pair Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva.

The right-back already has four assists for the season despite only starting seven of Tottenham’s 11 league games. Trippier has also laid on three more goals in cup competitions, making it seven in 12 matches so far this term.

Harry Kane has been the beneficiary of all of those league assists, and Spurs will hope this lethal combination can help their striker continue his fine record against the Gunners and earn them bragging rights this weekend.
