Wolves suffered a 3-2 defeat to Brighton in the Premier League earlier today, just hours after Julen Lopetegui had been appointed at Molineux.
Goals from Goncalo Guedes and Ruben Neves put Wolves 2-1 up after Adam Lallana gave Brighton the lead, although Lopetegui will have been concerned to see his new side collapse as Kaoru Mitoma and Pascal Gross fired the Seagulls to victory.
While the scoreline read 2-2 at Molineux, it seemed as if the Wolves players were happy to settle for a point against Roberto De Zerbi’s men.
Wolves wasted time against Brighton
Well, it was BBC journalist Simon Stone who noticed that Brighton fans were “starting to get annoyed” by the actions of the Wolves players, specifically Jose Sa and Nathan Collins.
On BBC Sport‘s live blog, Stone wrote: “Wolves are starting to time-waste. Not massively, but little things like Nathan Collins going down saying he has had a bang on the jaw, then getting up to carry on. Then Jose Sa switching the side he wants to take his goal-kick from.
“The Brighton fans have noticed and are starting to get annoyed.”

Clearly, this backfired for Wolves.
Lopetegui’s side now sit 19th in the Premier League, and the Spaniard has a huge task on his hands to turn the campaign around after inheriting a mess from Bruno Lage.
Wolves should have attacked Brighton
We simply cannot understand why Wolves, in front of their home support, did not push for all three points while drawing 2-2 against Brighton.
The Seagulls were there for the taking, and it would have given Lopetegui a fantastic way to start his job in the Midlands had Wolves picked up all three points.
We can understand why Wolves would want to waste time against the likes of Manchester City, but there was really no reason to slow things down earlier today – it certainly came back to haunt them.
